We spoke to #Faithfullgirl & conscious artist, Marianne Roussety about who she is, her journey to becoming an artist and the inspiration behind her latest art series.

"Hi! My name is Marianne and I am a french canadian/mauritian artist living and creating on Bundjalung land, Byron Bay."
“What is the inspiration behind your latest art collection.”
"This small series is a continuation of my last series, inspired by my roots from Mauritius and the slow way of living."
“Tell us about your journey in becoming an artist.”
"My father taught me to draw when I was little and I have always loved creating ever since. Creating through arts has always been my best way to express myself. I’ve tried multiple mediums, drawing, pottery, painting.. But my favourite remains painting!"
“ Where or who do you draw inspiration from?”
"A lot of my inspiration comes from women, nature and a touch of my own intuition."
“You are very open about conscious living and creating. What does conscious artwork mean to you?”
"To me, a conscious artwork is about trying to source eco-friendly materials when possible. I am very lucky and grateful that my partner builds my canvases, with sustainably sourced timber and hemp fabric (a more sustainable alternative to conventional cotton)."

"A bit of a mix of many styles at the moment.. Nicolas Jaar, Patrick Watson, Fleetwood Mac, Elder Island.."
“What is the best piece of advice you have been given as a creative?”
"Follow your own intuition!"
