“What are your top beaches that you love to spend time at? ”

All the local beaches here are amazing and pretty secluded. One in particular that’s always a good place to sit in the sun with very few people is called Riomar. When we are feeling more adventurous we drive to fort pierce inlet as it’s got a super fun longboard wave and the whole family can surf and play in the water all day. Another great spot is called Sebastian inlet, it’s better for people who want to surf on short boards and the kids have fun playing in the beach break, but when it’s too rough there’s a flat side of beach (the lagoon) that the kids swim in for hours with no waves for some variation and stress free beach time.

“What are a locals guide to some of your favourite off the beaten track spots?”

My sister and I love thrifting here and sorting through beautiful vintage treasures. We’ve found so many amazing pieces like art, furniture, and books all with that tropical old Florida feel. Habitat for humanity off of A1A is our favorite one for sourcing incredible pieces. I also love The Clothing Warehouse here in vero beach, they’ve got the best selection of vintage clothing and now have added a little coffee bar so you can sip and shop. And lastly nothing sounds better than some fresh squeezed frozen orange juice post beach. A spot called Countryside Citrus serves just that and is a local farm/groves that use their oranges to make this amazing slushee. You can visit their farm and get some or there’s a location on the beach that’s perfect for the after swim slushee!! A local brewery called The Walking Tree Brewery is newer and less know and an amazing spot on the weekends that’s family friendly has delicious locally owned food trucks and even kombucha on tap for the kids! We love it.
