“Please introduce yourself:”

My name's Lucy Williams, I live in London with my boyfriend and our dog Finn and I'm a stylist and digital content creator with a serious weakness for sunshine, travel, good books and bad TV.

“You’ve paved a career as a successful fashion and travel influencer and blogger, how did your career in this industry begin?”

I started working in magazines as a fashion assistant before moving into trend forecasting, all while working on my fashion blog I launched in 2011 in the background on weekends and evenings. I started my blog as a little creative side project, a mood board I guess, so it was a really nice surprise when it actually started to get a readership and brands started reaching out for projects. Eventually I was able to turn it into my full-time job in 2013 and make all my favourite things my career.

“You recently styled our latest El Sol editorial in Formentera, tell us about this experience.”

One of the funnest jobs ever! I've been working with Faithfull since the beginning of it all so it's always special working with the team. There was such a great atmosphere on the shoot and the super glowy Autumn light and surroundings really topped off it all off.

“What was your creative approach to styling the looks? ”

I wanted it to feel really carefree and laidback, with that relaxed spirit of lazy summer days spent going straight from the beach to drinks with friends and back again. I love the psychedelic El Sol prints so wanted to play on that in the styling with a nod to 1970s festival style and vintage photos of beach culture in Ibiza. It's a decade I've always loved so it was really fun to put a contemporary spin on that hippie style I love.

“If you could give one tried and tested styling tip, what would it be: ”

For me it's all about mixing up proportions. A little bikini with drawstring baggy pants, wide leg trousers with a little bandeau top, a mini dress with an oversized jacket... I always like playing with different fits and pairing opposites with each other. It always looks just the right kind of effortless to me.

“What were some of the highlights of your stay in Formentera?”

The incredible fiery sunsets and drinks at the little chiringuitos perched on the rocks while watching them.

“Three suitcase staples that you had to take away with you:”

My airpods (I always fall asleep to a podcast), pillow spray and my own shampoo and conditioner!

“What are some of your favourite pieces from El Sol that you can’t stop wearing?”

The printed brown pyjama-style bottoms are what I'll be living in next time I'm in the sun. I also love anything and everything in the swirly yellow print and the towelling halter bikini is my new favourite. So, so flattering and comfortable which is always my favourite combo.

“When you’re not working you love to:”

Go out to eat with friends, take my dog Finn for long walks, watch crime dramas and read one of the many books piling up next to my bed.
