“Ashlea, tell us about yourself.”

"I’m a make up artist from Byron Bay. I grew up on a farm in Lennox Head and started a family at 22 with my husband. I’ve been doing makeup for 15 years."

“How did your career start as a hair and make-up artist? ”

"I moved to Brisbane when I was 17 and did a super small make-up course and fell in love. There wasn’t a lot of make-up work at the time up this way. I started assisting legend Rae Morris, the rest is history."

“Do you have a signature style? If so, please share what it is.”

"I would have to say fresh, glowy skin. I tend to go with a punchy cheek and a minimal eye. I love a lip stain and accentuating freckles."

“Your top 5 hair and beauty products that you cannot live without: ”

"I can’t live without Paul Mitchell Velvet Cream for the ends of hair. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. RMS living Luminizer. Nudestix Hot Paprika Lip Paint (I use it as blush on cheeks and over the nose for a sunkissed look)."

“You recently worked your magic on our Spring ’21 Campaign, Le temps des fleurs. Please share some of your highlights from the shoot day and any of your favourite pieces from the collection.”

"The team! I really feel that’s what makes a good shoot. I always am drawn to a Midi Dress. I love the Bendita Midi. I also fell in love with the Teatro Floral Print."

“Can you please share how you got both Cameron and Gabrielle’s looks for the day?”

"I kept their skin super natural. I started by massaging their skin to get the blood flowing to get the most radiant skin possible. Kept it simple with brushed up brows, fres, juicy cheeks and a ‘just bitten’ lip stain."

“You are soon to launch your own Guasha brand, are you able to share any further information with us? ”

"It has just launched. It’s called Base Camp Beauty. Skin care and prepping the skin has always been a huge part of how I do make up. So it felt so natural for me to bring out a Guasha tool. I use it to decrease puffiness and promote healthy blood flow. You’d be surprised how effective it is - it’s a game changer for me."
