The Seville Travel Guide With Elisa Serrano & Elena Brotons

A city steeped in culture, colour and texture is one best explored through local recommendations. Below, #FAITHFULLGirls Elisa Serrano and Elena Brotons share their favourite morning coffee routines, neighbourhood tavernas and vintage stores to covet when spending  a weekend in Seville, Spain.

Where to find your morning coffee

Plácido y Grata

A beautiful cafe next to the hotel of the same name, where you can also have breakfast in its inner courtyard. Their jamóntoast is delicious.

Cafe Ozik

The perfect stop-in for a takeaway coffee that can carry you through a morning wandering the neighbourhood streets of El Arenal.

La Campana

An iconic pastry shop in the heart of Seville you must visit for a morning pastry. Our favourite being their egg-yolk sweet.

Where to explore

Casa de Pilatos

A beautiful 15th-century palace belonging to the Dukes of Medinaceli, blending Mudéjar, Gothic and Renaissance elements, with colourful gardens and stunning tiled courtyards.

Plaza del Salvador & Iglesia del Salvador

You cannot visit Seville without having a drink in this square and stepping inside the church one of the city’s most beautiful Baroque gems and home to the beloved Cristo del Amor

Jardines de Murill

Located by the old Jewish quarter, this is a beautiful explosion of colour, tiles and greenery.

Plaza del Museo

A lovely square for a morning or afternoon stroll, where local artists display their work on Sunday mornings. In particular, there is the el Museo de Bellas Artes, a gem of Spanish Baroque painting.

Guadalquivir & Triana

Walk along the Guadalquivir river to absorb the beauty of the city and cross over to Triana, a bustling neighbourhood with local markets, most beloved for its pottery and ceramic artists.

Where to wine and dine

Bar Patronas

Always a must-visit for us both, this serves classic Sevillian tapas including our favourite chicken breast with bechamel. For desert, we turn to the la tarta de la abulela.

Bodeguita Antonio Romero

A classic spot in the city – and while everything on the menu is worth a try, we love their famous montadito Piripi.

Casa Morales

Set in an iconic location near the Cathedral, this is the perfect spot for a traditional dinner. Order the solomillo al whisky and the el montadito de pringá.

La Fresquita

If you’re looking for a quaint bar and tavern for a standing aperitif before lunch or dinner, this is a locals-favourite.

Chiquilla

For a slower, more relaxed dining experience, this is a cosy Spanish restaurant that serves classic dishes like grilled fish and meat as well as seasonal ingredients.

Antiksuk

A decoration, clothing and accessories store mixing special pieces from different cultures.
